Education

Join fun-filled programmes by our Education Department as part of your visit.

IAMM Education Centre offers a variety of exciting programmes and activities for everyone to learn, experience and appreciate the museum’s rich collection of Islamic art.

Our Education department works to bring visitors a step closer in learning about the history, arts and cultures of Islam at the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia. Various programmes and activities, created for visitors of all ages, encourage everyone to engage and discover the wealth of our Islamic art collection.

By offering new ways to see, think and create, our educational programmes and activities enable participants to understand the vastness of Islamic art and heritage. Inspiration and involvement are at the core of our educational approach. As we generate interest and new audiences for the IAMM collection, we also create the space to connect and exchange ideas.

Visitors get to appreciate and be inspired by both the IAMM permanent collection and our many special exhibitions by being part of our programmes and activities. Choose from our wide selection of educational programmes and activities, available all year round.

Student Group Visits

Guided and self-guided group tours of IAMM galleries are available to students of all age groups with pre-booking. Pre-school, primary and secondary school students, as well as students from universities and higher learning institutions, are all welcome to explore our galleries and exhibitions.

You may opt to include our Gallery Activities in your group visit to allow a more interactive experience while exploring our galleries. You may also include one of our Be Inspired Modular Programmes, where students get to be creative by learning and applying age-old Islamic art techniques at our Educational Learning Workshop, as part of your group visit.
Teachers may enjoy a pre-visit to our galleries ahead of your scheduled group tour as a way of integrating a prospective visit with the school syllabi. Have an overview of the IAMM galleries and their highlights under Galleries, and plan your routes via the Museum Layout. We also welcome teachers and educators to enhance learning experiences by downloading our wide-ranging Online Learning Resources to be used either in or outside classrooms.

We also welcome student group visits for pre-schoolers at our Children’s Library. Groups may enjoy our IAMM One Day Pass where students will participate in storytelling sessions and accompanying art and craft workshops.

Meal Packages for student group visits may be available on selected dates. Inquiries for Meal Packages can be made by noting down the request in the Visit Request Form.

We look forward to welcoming you.
