Let us help plan your visit to IAMM.


IAMM is open every day, seven days a week. No bookings are required for general visits.

Operating Hours

The IAMM Galleries are open from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM daily.

The extension of our operating hours to 9:00 PM on the second Saturday of every month will be resumed after Eid al-Fitr. See the details here.

The Museum is closed on Hari Raya Puasa and Hari Raya Haji.

  • In 2024, Hari Raya Puasa (Eid al-Fitr) is expected to fall on April 10 and 11, while Hari Raya Haji (Eid al-Adha) on June 17. As the Islamic Hijri calendar follows the lunar cycle, dates are subject to change. Check for our announcements ahead of your visit.
  • In conjunction with Hari Raya Puasa (Eid al-Fitr) 2024, the Museum is closed from April 9 (Tuesday) until April 12 (Friday). The Museum will be opened from April 13 (Saturday) onwards. See the details here.

Admissions and Tickets

You may purchase your entry tickets at our Customer Service counter upon arriving at the Lobby. Select visitor groups enjoy special rates.

Adults RM20
Students RM10
Senior citizens (Malaysian) RM10
Senior citizens (non-Malaysian) RM20

Children under 6 Free

  • Students are required to show a valid ID while purchasing their tickets.
  • Payments can be made in cash or card.

Health and Safety Guidelines

Wearing facial masks in our premises is not mandatory, but is highly recommended. Physical distancing is no longer required. We ask you to apply self-prevention measures, in addition to basic health and hygiene practices, at all times. 

The Museum management will implement all health and safety measures as outlined in the Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) by the Government of Malaysia.

The Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia is located in the vicinity of Perdana Botanical Garden, a large park bordering the city’s bustling commercial district — Kuala Lumpur’s very own green lung. IAMM immediately neighbours the iconic Masjid Negara, or the National Mosque of Malaysia, which is in itself a must-visit. 

Other attractions are also located nearby, including the old Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, KL Bird Park, KL Butterfly Garden, the Royal Malaysia Police Museum, the National Planetarium and Tun Abdul Razak Memorial.

By rail

Nearest stations:

  • Pasar Seni (LRT and MRT): 10-minute walk past Masjid Negara
  • Kuala Lumpur (KTM Komuter and ETS): 5-minute walk past Masjid Negara

Other stations: 

  • Muzium Negara (MRT): 20-minute walk 
  • KL Sentral (all major rail lines): 5-minute taxi or e-hailing ride

By bus

Nearby Pasar Seni station is also a major hub for RapidKL buses, with multiple routes connecting central Kuala Lumpur with the rest of the Klang Valley. 

GOKL CityBus, a free bus service, stops by Masjid Negara and Dayabumi on their Red Route. 

KL Hop-On Hop-Off tour buses also regularly stop by Masjid Negara as part of their circuit.

By taxi or e-hailing ride

Set your drop-off point to Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia (Front Entrance) in English, or Muzium Kesenian Islam Malaysia (Pintu Hadapan) in Malay. You will be dropped off at our Main Entrance at Jalan Lembah Perdana.

By car

The Museum is connected to all parts of Kuala Lumpur and the rest of Peninsular Malaysia via major roads and highways. Free parking bays are available in the Museum vicinity.

Accessibility and Getting Around

Our main entrance at Jalan Lembah Perdana consists of a step-free access and a wide automatic sliding door, and is wheelchair friendly. It opens to our Lobby on the Lower Ground Floor, where our Customer Service counter is located. 

Two lifts connect the Lobby to the Ground and 1st Floors. Alternatively, a spiral staircase connects the Ground Floor to the Inverted Dome Pavilion. 

A ramp, located in front of the Museum Shop, connects the 1st Floor with the 2nd Floor.

Two more lifts, located next to MOZA Restaurant, connect the Ground Floor to the 1st and 2nd Floors, where the 12 permanent galleries are. 

Wheelchair-friendly toilets are available on the Ground Floor. Benches are available throughout the permanent galleries.

MOZA Restaurant

Take a break at our award-winning MOZA Restaurant & Café, located on the Ground Floor. Drink and dine under glimmering Qajar mirrorwork on the walls, and relax in the tranquility of the adjacent Fountain Garden.

MOZA Restaurant is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. Last call at 4:30 PM.

Museum Shop

Browse the wide range of titles by IAMM Publications alongside specially designed IAMM merchandise at the Museum Shop, located on the Ground Floor.

The Museum Shop is open from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM daily. You may also shop online.

Toilets

Toilets are available on the Ground and First Floors, and are cleaned regularly. Wheelchair-friendly facilities are available at the Ground Floor toilets.

Storage

Ample storage lockers are available near the Lobby. Make your request at the Customer Services counter.
