About the workshop:
In conjunction with More than a Day as a Tiger: The Legacy of Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan of Mysore (1761–1799), the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia is pleased to present a special tiger-themed painting session inspired by the enduring legacy of Tipu Sultan. This event offers participants an opportunity to explore artistic expression through the lens of historical and cultural significance.
The session will begin with gentle breathing exercises and light physical movements designed to promote relaxation and stimulate creativity. Following this, participants will be provided with an overview of the painting techniques and materials.
Participants will then be guided through the process of creating their own tiger-themed artwork, drawing inspiration from the powerful symbolism associated with Tipu Sultan, often referred to as the "Tiger of Mysore."
This immersive experience is suitable for all skill levels and encourages thoughtful engagement with history through art.
We invite you to reflect on the strength, resilience, and artistic heritage of Tipu Sultan as you bring your own interpretation to life on canvas.
All materials will be provided, and prior painting experience is not required.
