About the event:
In conjunction with the Oceans That Speak exhibition, the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia invites you to attend our curator’s sharing session on our Qur’an collection.
In this curator sharing session, we’ll explore the distinctive styles of illumination and binding found in Qur’ans from the Malay world. We’ll also look at how these artistic traditions influenced other religious manuscripts in the region. Qur’an are often richly illuminated and bound in fine textiles or leather.
By the end of the session, you’ll gain fresh insights into how to recognise and appreciate these artistic elements—equipping you to revisit the gallery with a deeper understanding and explore it through new eyes.
