About the event:
In conjunction with the 'Oceans That Speak' exhibition, the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia invites you to attend a workshop on mastering the
classic Jawi script and modern Jawi script. This workshop offers participants to be able to read and write both classic and modern Jawi scripts simultaneously.
The Speaker:
Associate Professor Dr. Adi Yasran Abdul Aziz
Associate Professor Dr. Adi Yasran Abdul Aziz currently working as a Lecturer at the Department of Malay Language, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
Dr. Adi holds a Bachelor's (1995) and Master's (1999) in Malay Language from Universiti Malaya, and a PhD from the Institute of Malay World and Civilization (ATMA), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, completed in 2005. He is an expert in Malay linguistics and has taught the Jawi writing system, phonetics, and Malay phonology since 2005. He has made significant contributions to publications, discourse, and research related to Jawi.
