If you have the right qualifications and are interested in joining one of Asia’s pre-eminent art institutions, you are encouraged to apply.
The museum welcomes foreign and local students who wish to participate in relevant internship programmes. Interns have the opportunity to participate in departmental duties that will expose them to a real working environment.
Each intern will be placed in the department that is most appropriate for their line of academic studies. Listed below are the most likely areas for attachments:
– Curatorial
– Graphics
– Marketing and Events
– Display
– Conservation
Acceptance of applications for internships is at the discretion of the management. The number of students that may be accepted is limited to 2 students within IAMM at any particular time.
Applications should be submitted by educational institutions, addressed to the Museum Director, at least three months before students commence the internship. Students are advised not to apply directly.
These attachments relate to studies and research on Islamic art history and conservation. It is desirable that applicants should have reached an advanced level of experience or training. For foreign researchers, prior approval from the Malaysian Immigration authority is essential entry.
Applications by post should be addressed to the Museum Director, or by e-mail to the address below, at least three months before the attachment date.
Whether you are in Malaysia or overseas, please contact our Human Resources Department for information about employment opportunities at the addresses and contact numbers given below.
